The Volcano Theater Company is a great community of local folks that volunteer their time and talent to produce quality theater productions. I’ve enjoyed developing my skills in both impressionist art and plain old house painting, and blending them with the skills and styles of other artists, designers, and paint slingers to create sets. From painting an aging brick back porch for “Proof”, Schultz-style backgrounds for “Snoopy”, a group mural of a park for “A Man with the Plastic Sandwich”, hollyhocks and a coat of arms for “Play On”, a gigantic mirror for “Plaza Suite”, a mural of the Nile, or changeable pieces for “The Grapes of Wrath” it’s been fun to share in limited-life group art and create audience illusions.
